Nursing is not the same as a caregiver course
Caregiver, nursing assistant and other allied-health certificates are different from nursing qualifications. A short certificate does not make someone a registered nurse. Durations, age rules, entrance tests and fees vary by state and year — check the current official admission notice. No single entrance exam applies to every nursing admission nationwide.
Questions to ask before you apply
- Is this exact programme currently recognised for this academic year? Check the official council list.
- Which university is it affiliated with, and which hospitals provide clinical training?
- What are the current fees, refund policy and hostel arrangements, per the official admission notice?
- Which entrance test or counselling route applies in this state for this year?
- Will the qualification lead to registration with the state nursing council?
Studying in India, working abroad?
An Indian nursing qualification does not automatically give you registration in another country. See Careers Abroad for each regulator's process.
